Throughout the day food and drink stalls plus various other events and attractions can be found in the festival field. As exhibitors are confirmed they will be added to the site. 

Timings for Battle and Viking Encampment

 

Daytime programme

10.00 – Event Opens

10.30 – Living History exhibits open to public – See how the Vikings and Saxons lived.

12.00 – Kings Court. Discover the background to the battle of Brunanburh and meet the main characters.

13.00 – Kiddie Vike. The Kings need young warriors to help fill their ranks. Are you up to the task?

15.00 – Re-enactment of The Battle of Brunanburh. See how the battle unfolded and how England was born.

16.30 – Living History closes to Public.

Viking Boat Burning

19.00 – Living History exhibits open to public – See how the Vikings and Saxons lived. 

19.30 – Parade. Join the vikings in a parade to see the Boat Burning ritual – a recreation of a traditional viking funeral rite.

20.00 – Boat Burning.

20.30 – Living History closes to Public

21.00 – Event Closes
